Alexander Alexandrovich Alekhine (sometimes spelled "Aljechin or Alechin") (IPA: [alʲɛk'sandr̠ alʲɛk'sandr̠ovʲiʨ a'lʲɛxin], Russian: Александр Александрович Алéхин) (October 31 or November 1, 1892 – March 24, 1946) was a chess master and a former World Chess Champion.
In Autumn 1907, Alexander, at the age of 14, tied for 11th-13th at Moscow.
