George Shearing : Concerto for Classic Guitar and Jazz Piano - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
And there are differences, though to a subtle degree that classical listeners would be more accustomed to debating.
To cite a few details, Shearing and Romero take "Hispanic Dance" and "Rhapsodic" a little faster than Bolling/Lagoya; Romero is more of a precise virtuoso than Lagoya; and Shearing displays a touch more freedom in the improvised portions of the piano part.
Shelly Manne is expertly adept at the percussive effects that Bolling asks for, and he and bassist Ray Brown usually outswing their French counterparts.

My first teacher was Evangelos Assimakopoulos, a student of Segovia, Ida Presti and Alexander Lagoya.
He came from a school of thought that placed sound quality first and naturally, he focused on beautiful sound, legato phrasing and soulful interpretations.
Yes and no. What helped my spirit and my focus was a set of Alexander Technique lessons I did with a brilliant teacher who works only with drama students at Juilliard.

I had studied for two really intense years in Paris with Alexander Lagoya so I felt my technique was ready, but I still didn't feel that this was going to be an international career.
I thought I would come back and play for little guitar societies, so everything that happened along the way, I was just thrilled.

 Stanley Yates - Cross-String Ornamentation
To be fair however, the modern usage does differ from that of the earlier players, the principal application today being one of short, quick trills and mordents, in contrast to long, drawn-out figures.
Alexander Lagoya did make a claim with his performance of the Bach Fugue, bwv 1000.
If you've been to one of my concerts or seen my Mel Bay editions you'll probably have noticed my fondness for cross-string ornamentation.

Barnes & Noble.com - Music: Concerto for Classical Guitar & Jazz Piano, Claude Bolling, CD
With the success of his Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio, Claude Bolling had stumbled upon a cottage industry: round up a willing classical soloist regardless of instrument, let him be himself, insert a piano part that plays ambassador between the classical and jazz camps, and voila!
The 5/4 theme and guitar/piano juxtapositions of "Hispanic Dance" remind one of Dave Brubeck's famous experiments in odd meters, and "Serenade" makes delicious use of a bossa nova groove.
The Greek/Italian classical guitarist Alexander Lagoya is the sharp-edged soloist; Bolling is equally at home in both stylistic camps (though the piano is sometimes a wee bit out of tune), and Michel Gaudry (bass) and Marcel Sabiani (drums) make up the rhythm section.
