Clan Gregor - History - The Bloodstained Shirts
But tired of the bitterness and feuding, Alexander MacGregor decided it was time to put an end to them and, accompanied by around 200 of his men, travelled from Rannoch and into the territory of his enemy.
But Alexander MacGregor was a wily fox, suspecting that this was more than a distinct possibility, for he was far from home and therefore particularly vulnerable.
Alexander MacGregor, knowing it would be only a matter of time before all of his people were slaughtered, decided on a last desperate bid to save the situation.

Until now Alexander had lived almost as simply as when he was a lad, and but lately he had reproved his officers for their indolent and luxurious habits.
Alexander was told of the boastful way in which Philotas had spoken, but he neither reproved nor punished him.
Alexander had been patient with Philotas and his punishment was just, but now the king did a cruel deed.

The Gregg Family History Project -CLAN MACGREGOR(1)
About 1435 the MacGregors were dispossessed of the direct ownership of their ancient lands which were then granted by the Crown of Scotland to the Earls of Argyll and other powerful noblemen, to whom the MacGregors, as tackmen or lessees, were compelled to be subject and to pay rentals.
It is evident that the MacGregors were exonerated of the charges, as on 4 January 1591/2, a royal pardon was issued to Allaster [Alexander] MacGregor of Glenstrae and all his kinsmen of the Clan Gregor, charged with the slaughter of John Drummond in September 1589, as from the date of said.
As the result of a feud between the MacGregors and Colquhouns, Alexander MacGregor of Glenstrae, chief of the clan, led over three hundred of his men in a southward march of sixty miles from Loch Rannoch to raid the Colquhouns of Luss near the south-western end of Loch Lomond.

 Clan MACGREGOR
John Macgregor of Glenorchy, who died in 1390, is said to have had three sons; Patrick, his successor’ John Dow, ancestor of the family of Glenstrae, who became the chief of the clan; and Greogor, ancestor of the Macgregors of Roro.
Here, after a fierce conflict, in which a sept of the MacGregors, known as the Maclvers, were all but cut to pieces, their chief, fleeing before his enemies, came to the narrowest part of the gorge, and by a wild leap from rock to rock across the torrent succeeded in making his escape.
His eldest son, the present baronet, Sir Malcolm MacGregor of MacGregor, entered the Navy in 1886, attained the rank of Commander in 1904, became Assistant to the Director of the Naval Ordnance at the Admiralty in 1907, and retired with the rank of Captain in 1911.

CANOE - The Toronto Sun CareerConnection
As Alexander MacGregor says, the Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology is the only school of its kind and can't keep up with the demand for its graduates.
MacGregor, dean of faculty and president of the institute, says his school usually accepts about 100-120 students a year, but that number has climbed to about 200 recently with four intakes of 50 students in January, March, June and September.
MacGregor won't put a figure on what graduates of the institute will earn in their first jobs, but says their employment rate is above 90% and sometimes they are hired before they write their final exams.

It was one of the sons of a much later Gregor, Alexander MacGregor (b abt 1535 at Roro) who married a MacGregor lass from the next valley and who moved there to become proprietor of her father's farm.
In 1643 it became unlawful for anyone to bear the name of MacGregor; no document with that signature was legal; to kill a man with that name was not punishable; nor could any minister baptize a male child with that name.
The MacGregor story after Alexander left Roro is from a 5 pp handwritten document on the "MacGregor Family History" by Susan Dayton Squires, direct descendant of the Roro MacGregors, from Public Archives of New Brunswick with a copy in the author's possession.

Continued strife 1601 through to 1608
To put an end to these dissensions, Alexander Macgregor left Rannoch, accompanied by about 200 of his kinsmen and friends, entered Lennox, and took up his quarters on the confines of Luss’s territory, where he expected, by the mediation of his friends, to bring matters to an amicable adjustment.
As the laird of Luss was suspicious of Macgregor’s real intentions, he assembled all his vassals, with the Buchanans and others, to the number of 300 horse and 500 foot, designing, if the result of the meeting should not turn out according to his expectations and wishes, to cut off Macgregor and his party.
The laird of Luss, in pursuance of his plan, immediately followed Macgregor with great haste through Glenfruin, in the expectation of coming upon him unawares, and defeating him; but Macgregor, who was on the alert, observed, in due time, the approach of his pursuers, and made his preparations accordingly.
