Alexander Wiley (May 26, 1884 – May 26, 1967) was a member of the Republican Party who served four terms in the United States Senate for the state of Wisconsin from 1939 to 1963.
Wiley was the Republican candidate for Governor of Wisconsin in 1936 but his bid failed.
In 1938 Wiley was elected to the United States Senate by defeating incumbent United States Senator F.

The Wileys first settled near Forestburg, Texas, where three more children were added to the family: Cynthia Adella Hammett Wiley in 1872, Arie Bell Wiley in 1876, and Lela Emma Wiley in 1878.
Ransom A. Wiley was living with his daughter, Lela, in Saint Jo when he died of pneumonia after a bout of flu at the age of 92 on January 6, 1929.

The Wiley and Noel families removed to Anderson and Roane Counties, TN.
Indications are that he was in the household of his son, Henry Howard Wiley of Roane, in the 1830 census.

Wiley would reply on June 16 asking Eisenhower to convey to the Community his wishes for success in uniting the European economy.
On June 11 the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed a resolution commending the Community for its financial stability and indicating the hope that a portion of the loans needed could be obtained from U.S. sources (WHCF/OF 260-A-2).

Although Wiley Grant's tombstone in Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy, Upshur Co., TX notes he was born April 27, 1843 in Ducktown, TN, it is apparent from census records and information obtained from other Grant researchers that he was actually born ca 1834 – 1835 in Buncombe County, NC.
Wiley is shown with his parents, Alexander and Susan Grant, until the 1860 census when he is found in Walker Co., GA with his wife, Susanna (Susan) Bruce (Source of her maiden name is from her daughter's, Susan Frances Grant Kennedy, death certificate.
It seems likely that Wiley's father, Alexander Grant, and family moved from Gilmer Co., GA to Polk Co., TN in the early 1850's since daughter Roxanna is believed to have been born there.
