 Beaulieu River
A proposal for a canal from the Worcester and Birmingham Canal near Worcester Bar to the Warwick and Birmingham Canal near Bordesley and from the Warwick and Birmingham Canal near Solihull to the Oxford Canal at Ansty.
The canal has been restored although there are several bridges which obstruct navigation and reduce the statutory headroom.
Most of the canal works were completed but the money ran out so it was never opened and was abandoned in 1796.

She adores having lots of space to run around in, the childrens park is very safe and the selection of animals is fantastic.

The Rideau Canal is the oldest continuously operating canal in North America and the Rideau River and Canal are designated as a Canadian Heritage River and a National Historic Site of Canada.
Looking north we see lock #1 and #2 of the 8 Ottawa Locks, the Ottawa River and the Alexandra Bridge in the distance, The 8 locks built from limestone operate today much as they did in September 1831 when the steamboat Union was the first vessel to pass through.
There was no settlement on the south side of the Ottawa River until the canal was built.

At the confluence of Sheas Creek with Alexandra Canal, the width of Sheas Creek is 12 metres and the invert of the channel is at 0.7 metres AHD.
The upstream banks were sealed with concrete and, during the 1950s, the lower reaches of the river and Alexandra Canal were diverted to allow for the draining of land for the enlargement of Sydney Airport (Cooks River Catchment Management Committee 1993a).
The Alexandria -MacDonaldtown Branch is a piped line from the north, whilst the Victoria Branch is a mostly a piped line from the east draining Zetland.

Designed by Edward Leader Williams the Canal measures 351/2 miles from Eastham on the River Mersey to Woden Street Footbridge beyond Pomona Docks.
It was opened by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra on 13 July 1905.
After almost 80 years the trade on the upper reaches of the Canal declined during the 1970's because of the increasing size of container ships, the decline of traditional industries and changing patterns of trade.

Alexandra Benedict's article published in the November 2002 issue of the Rock Island County Historical Society newsletter called the Deed-Slingers of Rock Island County discusses the "land deals" that were made in hopes of being in line with either a railroad or a canal.

The Queenstown Planning Area (which includes the Queenstown Housing Estate) is bounded by the Ulu Pandan Canal, Ghim Moh Housing Estate and the former Tanglin Camp area to the north, Alexandra Road to the east, Clementi Road to the west and the sea to the south.
Queenstown is located at the central-eastern end of the island about five to eight kilometres from the city.
Queenstown was subsequently chosen by Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) as a site for housing development due to its proximity to the successful first public housing scheme in Tiong Bahru.

Ran through the 3km canal road, and went to Buona Vista MRT for a quick water break.
From there, I ran all the way through Alexandra Road, Queensway, then back along Depot Road.
The rest came about 10min later, and we proceeded onwards to make a big loop around Buangkok MRT station...not really sure what the distance was for this portion, but the sun was real HOT.

The lower 11 km of the Cooks River is tidal.
