Random House of Canada Limited About Knopf Canada
Taking its name from the New York-based firm founded in 1915 by Alfred Knopf and his wife, Blanche, Knopf Canada's books have become synonymous, like those of their namesake, with outstanding literary merit and high quality craftsmanship, and are distinguished by the Borzoi logo.
For the first 18 months, Dennys, with one editor and one assistant, ran Knopf Canada from her Spadina Gardens apartment, while Random House of Canada made arrangements to move its editorial offices from Mississauga to downtown Toronto.
Knopf Canada has also published countless national bestsellers, including the works of Michael Ondaatje, John Irving, Derek Lundy, and Salman Rushdie.

Alfred A. Knopf Inc. Records, Scope and Contents
Alfred Knopf's outside interests in conservation, wine, Latin America, history, and music are well documented in his personal series; an examination of the firm's list, known for its quality books on those same subjects, reveals how closely the interests of the firm and the man were intertwined.
Although the correspondence of Alfred A. and Blanche Knopf is concentrated in the series bearing their names, their letters are also scattered through the rest of the collection.
The Knopfs' presence is felt throughout the collection; they corresponded with authors, monitored the publishing process, and often developed close personal relationships with their literary contacts.

 What Is Knopf Waiting For?
Alfred A. Knopf, the founder of the firm which bears his name, was legendary for his loyalty and commitment to his authors, and many Knopf editors who've succeeded him have carried on famously in that tradition.
Moreover, as further evidence of how dubious Knopf's contention that the paperback version has repaired the flaws of the original is the fact that virtually everything the Emory Report found wrong, deceitful, and "evidence of falsification" in Bellesiles's work remains for all to read in the Vintage paperback.
Apparently, Knopf's editors must still believe that Bellesiles only made some insignificant, unintentional "mistakes," minor errors that he has already "corrected" in the Vintage paperback and others that he might "correct" in a future edition.
