 Judgment at Nuremberg: Alfred Jodl
Jodl defends himself on the ground he was a soldier sworn to obedience, and not a politician; and that his staff and planning work left him no time for other matters.
Jodl discussed the Norway invasion with Hitler, Hitler and Raeder on 12th December, 1939; his diary is replete with late entries on his activities in preparing this attack.
Jodl explains his comment that Hitler was still looking for an "excuse " to move meant that he was waiting for reliable intelligence on the British plans, and defends the invasion as a necessary move to forestall them.

Talk:Nuremberg Trials - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The summary of Jodl in Goldensohn's "The Nuremburg Interviews" states in part: "On February 28, 1953, he (Jodl) was posthumously exonerated by a German de-Nazification court that found him not guilty of crimes under international law." (page 137).
Jodl's exoneration is just as significant as the fact that von Papen, acquitted at Nuremburg, was later "reclassified as a major offender" by another German de-Nazification court in 1947; this was not mentioned in this article either.
In the meantime, it'd be nice if someone could translate parts of de:Alfred Jodl to Alfred Jodl, in particular the Nachspiel section, since it mention the exoneration, as well as some of the controversy surrounding it.

Jodl, representing OKW and thus the headquarters responsible for managing the war on the Western Front, began the briefing.
The evidence is clear that Jodl and a few of his juniors from the Wehrmacht Operations Staff did examine the Ardennes concept very closely in the period from 25 September, when Hitler gave the first order to start detailed planning, to 11 October, when Jodl submitted the initial operations plan.
Jodl definitely ascribes the selection of the Ardennes to Hitler and Hitler alone, but at the time Jodl expressed this view he was about to be tried before an international tribunal on the charge of preparing aggressive war.
