Hand configuration of config files was a big part of the reason Alfredo Kojima began to create Wmaker in the first place.
Kojima's journey to his own window manager began with a great love for FVWM, but a serious dislike for some particular aspects of the venerable window manager.
Kojima's commitment to putting out a clean product shows in the overall work done on Wmaker, but he acknowledges there is still some ways to go.

Claudio Matsuoka, Alfredo K. Kojima, and others at Conectiva, as you are no doubt aware, are the ones who front-ended the apt suite (apt-get, apt-cdrom, apt-zip) to the RPM package format.

In Unix computing, AfterStep is a window manager for the X Window System.
AfterStep originally was a variant of FVWM modified to resemble NeXTSTEP, but as developers (who included Alfredo Kojima and Guylhem Aznar), this window manager further diverged from its FVWM roots.
It currently includes several modules including a pager, WinList (which helps to manage windowed applications), and a docking feature called the Wharf (which manages applets).
