		Finding the climate unsuited to their needs, the Spathi, apparently without consulting the Algolites, thoughtlessly set up terraforming equipment to (they thought) slightly, harmlessly alter the planet's atmosphere.
		Greenish challenged Zelnick as to whether the disaster having been an accident made any difference to the Algolites, leading Zelnick to eventually acquiesce and meet the Melnorme's demands for a formal apology.

		Algolites is one species, but the Melnorme call them the Algolites to make the story simpler (the name of the species is unimportant to the story, so why bother Captain Zelnick with that info?)
		And my favorite: Algolites is one species, but the Melnorme aren't just going to tell you their true name for free, you know!!
		The first explanation is possible, but unlikely, since they refer to the Algolites' "regret" implying that the Algolites are a sentient species, and planets with multiple sentient species seem rare (at least rare enough that the Zoq-Fot-Pik are remarkable for it).

		They did try to achieve what they called pseudo parallel systems with the work leading from ALGOL to SIMULA.
		So the ALGOLites used a pass BY NAME feature to pass you a reliable indication of where yet another pointer was.
		And you would have to double dereference you pointer to pick up the real intended data.
