		We spoke first off about Algy's days with The Saints, there's a new box set coming out this month which includes a live CD which Algy plays on, he was waiting for the courier to deliver his promo copy that day.
		Algy then told me about the new Tank CD which is fully written, he is just waiting to have his operation and then its back into the studio to record it.
		Algy then had to head off to his girlfriend's place so I stayed with Kipper for a pint and then made a sad attempt to find my way back to the pub where I was staying.

		She grandly states, when Algy tries to say he isn't so bad, that it's hypocritical to pretend to be wicked but instead to be leading a good life.

		Sensible had switched to guitar and keyboards, and after a brief interlude with Lemmy Kilmister of Hawkwind and Motörhead recording studio demos on bass, the position was filled by Algy Ward, formerly of the early Australian punk band, The Saints.

		Algy joined The Damned in 1978 after they'd reformed and been gigging as "The Doomed".
		With Brian James gone and Captain on guitar The Damned needed a new hard hitting bassist, Algy was their man. He's known for pounding out one of the most memorable bass intros for one The Damned's biggest anthems...Love Song.
		Algy was sacked in 1979 due to alleged tensions with Rat.

		In the early days they were very close to the Motörhead sound but later on they became more of a NWOBHM band.
		In 1993 there was some talk of a reunion album but nothing came of it and instead Ward spent time working with musicians from bands like Fastway, Asia, Network, Conspiracy and Motörhead in different projects.
		In 1996 Tank reformed though since there was a very big interest once again for the early 80's acts and they were offered a record deal.
