The main character of Alias is (Click link for more info and facts about Jessica Jones) Jessica Jones, the former costumed (Click link for more info and facts about superhero) superhero Jewel, now (Someone who can be employed as a detective to collect information) private investigator.
Alias was one of the titles that launched Marvel's (Street names for gamma hydroxybutyrate) MAX imprint, and was reported to have been one of the reasons why MAX was created.

Check out this excellent title from comic book legend Joe Kubert, which tells the true story of a comic book agent who is trapped in Sarajevo during the two and half year period that the Serbs were bombing the city.

And then a week like this comes along, where he has four of the best comics of the week on the stands, and I realize that nope, I was right, he is one of the best writers in comics.
Alias #11 is the beginning of a new story arc, another missing persons case like her last one, but set in a small town instead of the city and featuring a teenage girl instead of a flaky super-hero groupie/rock star.
What I like about Alias, and about Jessica Jones, is how normal and believable everything is. Sure, the cliffhanger ties the story into the Marvel Universe, but the basics of the case are like anything you could see in a good private investigator story.

Runemaster Studios, Inc. has announced that it is severing ties with Alias Enterprises, effective immediately.
Runemaster's partnership with Alias produced the sold-out mini-series "Lions, Tigers and Bears," published through Image comics, as well as the debut issue of "The Gimoles." The trade paperback collection of "Lions, Tigers and Bears," also produced in partnership with Alias, sold out of its initial printing.
According to Bullock, Runemaster is terminating the licensing agreements for "Lions, Tigers and Bears" and "The Gimoles" for cause, due to material breaches committed by Alias.

Her superheroine heritage is a mixed blessing, because it just draws the ire and scorn of the cops, while she was such a small fry in the metahuman community that she has few reliable contacts who will so much as give her the time of day.
In a few short words, Alias is as down to earth as possible, as long as "fantastic" books are concerned, and those looking for a more realistic look at super heroes should definately get this one.
This part of Alias doesn't clearly say what Jessica's powers are, in the beginning we learn that she has a mean left hook and later on she breaks a shotglass in her hand with no cuts after.

Alias Enterprises, a new San Diego-based comic book publisher founded by Brett Burner (owner of the highly successful Christian/homeschooling powerhouse, LampPost Publishing) and Mike S. Miller (veteran comic book industry artist and writer), is planning an ambitious launch of 12 full-color comic book titles in April of 2005.
Most Alias comics will be 32-page standard format color books with a cover price of $2.99, but the company will also release some graphic novel collections of works originally released by other publishers.
Alias will publish comics created by a number of different independent studios including Dabel Brothers Productions, Runemaster Studios, Blue Water, and Community Comics, which accounts for the size and diversity of Alias' ambitious publishing program.
