Esoteric Astrology: Alice Bailey: Portrait of Leo Rising
Alice's self-torture and unpleasantness continued until the age of fifteen when she was sitting in the drawing room one Sunday, with the rest of the family having gone to church.
In her autobiography,* Alice Bailey expressed her disagreement with these self-righteous policies, common to the structures of many organizations, by stating that the "average head of a group" poses as if to be "the anointed of the Lord" when, in reality, he/she is only a human being simply trying to help his/her fellow man/woman.
Alice Bailey was following her soul's plan to create (Leo) a center (Sun) of education (Gemini) that was free from personal desire and attachment (Taurus), thus helping to destroy the idea of personal ownership of knowledge that often occurs within a closed group.

Djwal Khul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Early in the 1920's, the cook at the American Theosophical headquarters café, Alice A. Bailey (1880-1949), began writing Neo-Theosophical literature which she claimed to be receiving telepathically from a Master later to be reveiled as Djwal Khul (spelled by her 'Djwhal Khul').
Bailey's books, Djwal Khul ('The Tibetan' or D.K.) describes himself as an abbot of a Tibetan monastery and the spriritual preceptor of a large group of Lamas.
Bailey, the leaders of these groups may claim to be in direct contact with him and other 'Masters of Wisdom', and to be working as their disciples on the physical plane.

Theosophy's Shadow:  A Critical Look at the Claims and Teachings of Alice A. Bailey by Nicholas Weeks
Bailey asserted that her teachings are grounded in and do not oppose in any fundamental way Theosophy as lived and taught by HPB and her Gurus.
Bailey's view that the Theosophical Movement revolves around humanity invoking an avatar and his hierarchy is foreign and opposed to Theosophy as taught by HPB and the Adepts.
Bailey was critical of the TS and yet the jargon and gush she wrote about the Hierarchy over 30 years (1919- 49) was as bad, if not worse, than that in the TS of the same period.

Alice Bailey and The Inner Nature of Man
The issue has clearly to be faced that Alice Bailey herself may have written these books; and there are factors for and against this interpretation.
The books are in her style of English; indeed the Tibetan says in one of them that he is not entirely at ease in the occidental medium and she does claim to have suggested corrections from time to time.
The basic issue which would set Alice Bailey at loggerheads with the orthodox church is of course the matter of reincarnation, and perhaps something more should be said about it.

 Alice Bailey's Dark Forces
Prolific author, channeler and mystic Alice Bailey, in several of her writings has mentioned "dark forces" which are at work in the world in order to slow down the progress of the inevitable "New Age" or "Age of Aquarius".
Now these "forces" are most prevalent within certain groups, and Bailey has stated that one of their main goals is to impede the coming of this New Age.
One intriguing part of all of this, is that Bailey was not writing of her own accord, but from what she called a "spirit guide", a supposed spirit of an "ascended master of the Hierarchy" which entered into her and caused her to write these things.
