October 28, 1999 -- AliciaMorton thought she might be having a bad hair day last spring when she showed up at her first audition for Annie, a TV remake of the Broadway hit (airing Nov. 7 on ABC).
The younger of two children of Jon, a carpet store owner in Gonzales, La., and Kathy, a homemaker, Alicia was 7 when she landed the part of young Cosette in Broadway's Les Misérables in 1996.

Add AliciaMorton (Young Cosette in Broadway's Les Misérables) in the title role and Victor Garber (Sweeney Todd, Assassins) as Daddy Warbucks, and you have a cast that is refreshingly not driven by Hollywood box office, other than Kathy Bates as Miss Hannigan.
AliciaMorton is the best she sings beautifuly and is deffinetly worth your money.
AliciaMorton heads the cast as the titled moppet, and is a wonderful singer with a lot of personality and presence.

AliciaMorton is not only convincing in the title role but she has a real non showy approach that comes across as more genuine and more engaging than Houston’s Baby June-like Annie back in 1982.

AliciaMorton is a treasure, genuine and real and playing her scenes with a beguiling sincerity.
Victor Garber hits all the right notes; his transition from initial no-nonsense efficiency to warmth and caring is handled with aplomb, and his performance of "Something Was Missing" is lovely.
He found his "Annie" in newcomer AliciaMorton - and she plays the part with her own hair, no wig necessary.
Gone is the Hooverville sequence; gone is the faintly embarrassing sequence in which Annie inspires the New Deal.
What's left is the central story of Daddy Warbucks (drily comic Victor Garber, who turns sentimental all too soon), Annie (natural young charmer, AliciaMorton) and Grace (the luminous Audra McDonald), with delicious villainy embodied in Miss Hannigan (zestful Kathy Bates), oily Rooster (Alan Cumming, late of Broadway's "Cabaret"), and tasty mini-moll Lily (Kristin Chenoweth).
This made-for-TV adaptation of the hit Broadway musical (which was, in turn, based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray) stars AliciaMorton as Annie, who lives in an orphanage run by the ill-tempered Miss Hannigan (Kathy Bates).
Like the rest of the children, Annie doesn't like the orphanage and hates Miss Hannigan, so she's excited when famous and eccentric billionaire Daddy Warbucks (Victor Garber) picks Annie as the lucky orphan who gets to spend Christmas at his mansion.

but ive got to say annie has mostly had a makeover aliciamorton does not have big curly hair like the original annie she has straight hair and you didnt even see all of the ofphan girls.
When they were in bed there was only 5 or 6 of them but when they were going outside into the street there were 20 or something orphans this is not a good planned movie they cant even do one thing right --This text refers to the DVD edition
Newcomer AliciaMorton as Annie is a star in her own right and she is very well supported by her cat.
