Professional wrestling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the earlier parts of the 20th Century, "professional wrestling" was at times just that, a professional contest of amateur-style wrestlers competeing for a purse with a league structure similar to professional boxing.
Professional wrestling is "simulated" in the sense that the outcomes are predetermined, and their effects upon the opponent exaggerated.
The vast majority of bleeding incidents in wrestling are real, and are typically induced by using iodine in the back stage area to prep the skin for lacerating and using a foreign object or stiff blow to easily cause the skin to break.Bleeding is known as "juicing".

All Japan Pro Wrestling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) (全日本プロレス, zen nihon puroresu) is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion established in 1972.
In the beginning the PWF recognized a world heavyweight championship and several "regional championships" given as billing to foreign stars depending from which region they came from, but after All Japan joined the NWA, the PWF world title was downgraded to a regional championship.
The PWF "President" (similar to a commissioner in a U. promotion, with the added task of "presenting" the belts to the winners in title bouts) from the start until 2000 was Lord James Blears and after that Stan Hansen.

The vast majority of bleeding incidents in wrestling are real, and are typically induced by using hidden razor blades to cut oneself on the forehead; the act of cutting is known in the business and among fans as blading, and bleeding is known as juicing.
When professional wrestling moved to increasingly fixed matches around the early 1900s, there was still a strong push for most of the century to promote professional wrestling as being a legitimate sport; this movement is where the concept of kayfabe originated from.

AJPW immediately established itself among the elite promotions in Japan and one of the world’s most respected wrestling circuits while engaging in working agreements with both the NWA and AWA throughout the 1970’s and 80’s, which produced a steady influx of veteran American talent.
Originally known as the Midwest Wrestling Association representing territories in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa, the circuit was a cornerstone office of the National Wrestling Alliance as promoters Pinky George and Orville Brown were two of the NWA’s founding members in 1948.
Founded by upstate New York wrestling promoter Pedro Martinez, the NWF was originally based in Buffalo but later formed a working agreement with New Japan Pro Wrestling that moved the circuit to a permanent residence in Japan.

Pro Wrestling Insider - Pro Wrestling News Inside & Out
The best way to describe the current mood around All Japan Pro Wrestling is "a state of flux." The promotion has seen much better days and much of the blame has been hoisted on the shoulders of President Keiji Mutoh.
Over the last several months, All Japan has continued to move away from the traditional feel of the promotion, dropping imagery of the late Giant Baba from advertising, discontinuing its traditional big events in Budokan Hall, and the usage of former WWE talent such as Jamal, Justin Credible, and Bull Buchanan in recent months.
Ka Shin, who jumped from New Japan in January 2002 to join Mutoh in All Japan, had a WWE tryout late last year and was hopeful of heading to WWE, but it didn't come together.
