War and Peace, Smalltime, by Jill Stauffer (h2so4)
Three Kings has represented this war, and, perhaps, war in general, not as a period of nonstability but as a period of the worst status quo-entrenched stability, a period during which bombs are dropped to save gold and Rolex watches and Infiniti convertibles, but it is against the law to save a human life.

The music of War sounds invariably recalls a sticky summer day in LA for me. Their sound was fairly progressive for the 1970's: combining latin sounds, jazz, funk, and rock.
Middleweight contestants in the arena of 1970s funk rock bands, War was far better at producing singles that albums, and as such needs to be represented by a decent anthology album.

THE HORRORS OF WAR - PEACE AT ANY PRICE?
Back in the 1920s those who had survived the war, and those whose sons, and husbands and brothers and fathers had not come home, vowed that the sacrifice of so many would be recorded in stone.
Many talk of the horrors of war who know little of their actualities, and for that reason such a scene as this, though it is repulsive, is also educative; for, to know truly, you must see, and even this repellent scene is but a slight hint of war's horrors.
Although Civil War doctors were commonly referred to as "butchers" by their patients and the press, they managed to treat more than 10 million cases of injury and illness in just 48 months and most did it with as much compassion and competency as possible.

Bernie DeKoven's FunLog: War, Peace and Rubber Bands
Yes, I know, despite the boyhood manliness of it all, shooting each other with rubber bands is an activity that borders perhaps too painfully close to the eternal war zone.
Googling for yet other rubber banded pleasures, I was reminded of the significantly less overtly aggressive, vastly more skill-requiring (and hence even more profoundly less boyish) games of rubber band jump rope and, of course, the highly recommended and truly junkly art of rubber band ball gathering.
From there, it requires only a slight stretch to recall the endlessly entertaining sounds one can generate when one attempts to play music on a rubber band, as well as the mystifying, yet clearly loopy implications of rubber band magic.

Get Ready to ROCK! Review of CD album by rock band War And Peace called The Walls Have Eyes
There are some nods to Jeff Pilson’s 80’s band Dokken in ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Breakdown’, both musically with its driving hard rock and lyrically as it deals with band egos.
Been awhile since this band was last around and apart from Jeff Pilson (Dio/Dokken) I am unsure who else plays on this release.
It’s got a modern vibe to the sound (bits of Foo Fighters/Nickelback in the sound mix), like the chugging riff on ‘Reflections’ and the OTT guitar solo on top (who it is I don’t know but there blummin’ good!).

I’ve posted many times before at how I love playing with Fro, and what an amazing musician he really is, but there is no way I could overstate what an important factor to the band he is and will continue to be.
