When he spoke to the Herald all those years ago Jakovich said he would give anything to be part of a South Fremantle premiership.

 DEMONLAND - History
Allen Jakovich had been drafted from Woodville (where he had traveled from WA a year earlier) at number 6 in the National Draft.
The return to the team of Allen Jakovich and the continued domination of Jim Stynes on the ball was the lifter for Melbourne which returned to the winning list in Sydney.
Stynes and Jakovich continued their form as Melbourne withstood a resolute St. Kilda fight back to win by a point at Moorabbin but the Demons still had a lot of work to do as they were sitting in seventh position.

Every Day is Like Sunday: Allen Jakovich Day 2005
Read our 2003 and 2004 tributes to the great man. Sadly there's very little else to say today, but I did have a dream the other night that took place in the early 90's.
P.S - It is an absolutely 100% correct and true Demonblog.com FACT that I threw a colossal hissy fit and refused to follow AFL for two years when he was delisted and thus missed the whole '95 and '96 seasons.
But I was horribly, horribly drunk on the outer wing with a good Collingwood-supporting mate who was amazingly tolerant of my increasingly high-pitched ranting as we went from five goals down (?) at the 25-minute mark (?) of the third quarter to win handily, Jakovich kicking six (?).

The last of them was a pass to Justin Davies in the goal square that Davies allowed to crack into the goal post.
A lesson learned for Fevola, who has a touch of Allen Jakovich about him.
Once, near quarter-time, he was furious at a teammate who went short when he was open at the back of a pack - so much so that he did not contest the loose ball just a few metres away.

In 1989 Rudi Mandemaker led Central's goal-kicking for the fourth time in a run of six consecutive seasons.
He also captured the Ken Farmer Medal as the SANFL top goalscorer in a shoot-out with rival Allen Jakovich (Woodville) at the last minor round game of the season at Elizabeth Oval.
Rudi originated from Poowong in country Victoria, playing two years with Hawthorn's Under 19's and Reserves and took out the Under 19's top goalkicker award twice.

The Kilbot Factory › Born To Be A Clive
Clive is the leading goal kicker in the history of the Fremantle Football Club (Tony 'Mods' Modra, another semi-oddball who could probably squeeze into BD's esteemed list of footy eccentrics, is in second place with 30 less goals) and on his (rare) day could match and beat anyone.
Recalling Clive scalping the steroid freak that is A. Jakovich's younger brother in the 2000 Demo Derby - booting 7 electrifying goals and leading Fremantle to a rousing 1-point victory - still stirs the soul.
He provided a light-hearted and occasionally awe-inspiring antidote to the pain of the weekly floggings we used to cop on and off the field.

At the 16 minute mark he kicked his 6th and I was talking 10 like a complete moron.
A side note - I wasn't there when Gary Lyon kicked 10 in the '94 finals so am still waiting for the first double figures result by one of our players since the great A. Jakovich lost the plot against North in '91 and booted 11.
Everyone else seemed to be chipping in as well and by half-time we were 6 goals up and looking comfortable.
