The township, as laid out by the draft of the viewers and erected by them, embraced more of the territory of Fallowfield and East Pike Run than is mentioned in the petition, and is the present territory of Allen.
Upon the organization of the township into school districts in 1835, the territory of Allen township was embraced in East Pike Run and Fallowfield school districts, and so remained until the organization of the township in 1853, when the school directors elected that year organized the township into three school districts.

The following is a transcription of an unnamed cemetery in Upper Allen township, Cumberland county, PA. Tradition holds that it was started expressly for use by slaves who escaped to the north via the underground railroad.
The cemetery was restored in 1985 by the Upper Allen Historical Committee.
