Allison's AE2100 powers the Lockheed C-130J and the Saab 2000 and is also certificated for the IPTN N-250.
Allison is also in partnership with AlliedSignal on the T800, already selected for the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche and a leading candidate for other applications in the USA and beyond, including the Hindustan Aeronautics Advanced Light Helicopter.
The UK group points out that Allison has continued to improve its financial performance, turning round its heavy losses to announce a $6 million pre-tax profit for 1994 on sales of $632 million.

Allison Engine Company - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1929, shortly after the death of James Allison, the company was purchased by the Fisher Brothers, who instructed it to use the cylinder design for a six cylinder engine for a "family aircraft".
Allison also started the development of a series of turboprop engines for the U.S. Navy, starting with the T38 and a "twinned" version as the T40.
Allison tried again with the Allison T56, basically an enlarged T38 with the power of the T40, and was eventually rewarded when this engine was selected to power the C-130 Hercules.

The increased range was achieved by underwing 5,150 litre (1,360 US gallon) fuel tanks and more powerful Allison T-56-A-7A turboprops.
The C-130T is similar, but has numerous avionics improvements over the R model and is fully night-vision system compatible.
These differences include new Rolls-Royce Allison AE2100 turboprops with six-bladed composite scimitar propellers, digital avionics (including head-up displays for each pilot), reduced crew requirements (2 pilots—no navigator or flight engineer), increased reliability and up to 27% lower operating costs.

That's certainly true of Rolls-Royce Allison, whose engines are at the center of both the hotly contested regional jet and long-range business aircraft markets.
That includes: the AE2100 turboprop on the Saab 2000; the AE3007 turbofan on the Embraer 134/145 and Citation X; the BMW Rolls-Royce BR710 on the GV and Global Express; and the Williams-Rolls FJ44 on the Citation Jet and Raytheon Premier 1.
The most disappointing program for Rolls-Royce Allison at the moment is, according to their own estimates, the AE2100 turboprop program.
