Almach C is a white A0V main sequence star.
Almach B and C currently appear separated by 9.58 arc seconds from A. At the distance of the star system, this corresponds to a separation of at leat 1040 AU or 26 times the radius of the solar system out to Pluto.
Almach B itself has an even closer companion than Almach C that revolves in a 2.67 day orbit.

Dave's observation of Almach noted one component of this system as being green in color.

The Upsilon Andromedae (ups And) binary system is located about 43.9 light-years from Sol.
It lies in the east central part (01:36:47.8+41:24:19.65, ICRS 2000.0) of Constellation Andromeda, the Chained Maiden -- northeast of Mirach (Beta Andromedae), southwest of Almach (Gamma Andromedae), and southeast of Chi Andromedae (see starfield around ups And).
