The Almeria region is situated in the southeast of Spain with its coast on the east of the region.
Almeria is the only European region which boasts desert areas and where many different types of films have been recorded - among which have been the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns and amazingly, David Lean's Dr Zhivago - where hundreds of tons of candle wax was used to simulate ice.
As previously mentioned, Almeria is a large province and whilst the whereabouts of each and every expatriate living in the region cannot be known, we do know of the areas which are the most popular.
