An island province, it is bounded by the Visayan Sea on the north, Carigara Bay on the south, Samar Sea on the east and the Strait of Biliran on the west.
Biliran has a total land area of 55,542 hectares, approximately 60% (33,192 ha.) is considered alienable and disposable while the remaining (22,350 ha.) is made of forestland.
Cebuano, spoken by 57.79 percent of the population, and Waray-waray by 40.80 percent, are the major dialects spoken in the island.

In 1834, a missionary was sent from Almeria, Spain (presently one of the beautiful cities in Spain) composed of Spanish soldiers who went around in an inspection trip to the Visayan Island.

He also confided that the signing of the social accord for 2005 that took place in Agta Beach Resort in Almeria, Biliran last week is the first to be held in the province since most of the past ceremonial signing of the document was done in Tacloban City.

I reconstructed its possible origin, its communal activities that can be inferred from documents, extant folklore, place-names, and monuments, its impact on the folk religious practices of the Leyte-Samar region, as well as its legacy for local millenarian movements, including the Pulahan movement during the early American period, over the next two centuries.
I have feedbacked this information to Biliran Mayor Pablo Mejia III, and he is very much willing to spearhead the first-ever celebration of the Pueblo Day for his town next year.
