Almira Township is a civil township of Benzie County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
As of the 2000 census, the township population was 2,811.
In the township the population was spread out with 27.7% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who were 65 years of age or older.

Almira Citizens for Preservation and the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy will celebrate the completion of the Ransom Lake project on Saturday, May 10, at 3:00 p.m.
The public is invited to the dedication of the Natural Area, which is now open to the public and owned and managed by Almira Township.
The dedication May 10 is the culmination of more than two years of work by the Almira Citizens organization and the Regional Land Conservancy.

William Bucklin also volunteered at River Rouge, near Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan; May 15, 1812 under Captain Francis Chowin, and after a few weeks joined Captain Stephen Meeks of the Michigan Militia and was with General Hull's army on August 16, 1812, when he surrendered at Detroit.
