Yeah, if you want very smooth almond milk you can boil water and then pore it over the almonds and let them sit for around five minutes or until the skins loosen, remove the skins and then mix the blanched almonds with the 2 cups of regular water.
Maybe blending the almonds with the hot water also helps seperate the skins from the meat as it is blending.
Use one cup of water and 1/3 cup of almonds, or walnuts, oats, banana, etc. Combine in blender at highest speed until smooth.

I was reading a post in the diet section last week and it mentionned almond milk.
It had to be the milk because I had kept on my IC Diet all day and did not start hurting until I drank the milk.
That might indicate whether you are reacting to the almonds or another ingredient in the almond milk.

Although high in fat, Almond Milk is a good source of Protein, Fiber, Vitamin e, Riboflavin, Magnesium, Zinc and Iron.
I use coconut milk with the half and half, maybe a little extract and pour honey and sesame seeds over it upon serving.
