	Misamis Occidental
		The Occidental comprised the towns of Baliangao, Lopez Jaena, Tudela, Clarin, Plaridel, Oroquieta, Aloran, Jimenez, and Misamis.
		The original nine (9) municipalities of the province of Misamis Occidental grew into the present three cities of Ozamiz, Oroquieta and Tangub and the fourteen (14) municipalities of Aloran, Baliangao, Bonifacio, Calamba, Clarin, Concepcion, Don Victoriano, Jimenez, Lopez Jaena, Panaon, PLaridel, Sapang Dalaga, Sinacaban and Tudela with a total of 490 barangays.
		The name "Misamis" is believed to have been derived from the Subano word "Kuyamis" which is a variety of sweeto coconut - the staple food of the early settlers in this place.

		On Wednesday, January 26, 2005 planned medical and charitable mission to Aloran, Misamis Occidental was successfully undertaken under the auspices of Misamisnon-USA and hosted by town Mayor Leonardo "Narding" Regalado II and Aloran Association of America (AAA)president Martin Celemin.
		With cooperation of barangay captains of Sinampongan, Tawi-Tawi and Makawa, AAA's M. Celemin and Jean P. Celemin and Aloran Municipal Health Officer Lita Paru-an handed the needed foodstuffs to the hundreds of indigents of the 3 barangays of Aloran.
		A total of $1,050 has been collected/received by the Aloran Association of America (AAA) West Coast in response to its solicitation in the last 3 months for funds to be used in the upcoming medical mission in Aloran, Misamis Occidental on January 26, 2005.
