		Alpine County is the smallest county, by population, in the U.S. state of California.
		Alpine County was formed in 1864 from parts of Amador, El Dorado, Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties.
		In the county the population was spread out with 22.80% under the age of 18, 10.40% from 18 to 24, 27.50% from 25 to 44, 29.30% from 45 to 64, and 9.90% who were 65 years of age or older.
