	Ottawa East Community Association
		The Alta Vista Transportation Corridor (also known in previous times as the Alta Vista Parkway or Expressway) is a project aimed at providing transportation relief for the south east sector of the city.
		The corridor begins at Conroy and Walkley and winds through green spaces and parks in Alta Vista (behind the Ottawa Hospital's General campus), through Hurdman Park, across the Rideau River to potentially terminate at the Queensway at the Nicholas ramp.
		Some of the folks in Alta Vista strongly want the corridor to be a highway because they want less traffic and so far they believe the story and don't realize it will have the opposite effect.

	Ottawa-Carleton District School Board \| Media Release - January 30, 2007
		On the second anniversary of the Indian Ocean tsunami, Alta Vista Public School students shared their feelings of friendship and hope with children in Banda Aceh.
		These were presented to Alta Vista Public School, along with a video message from the Indonesian children, during an assembly for over 500 students.
		To keep the chain of communication open, the Alta Vista students returned the favour, sending pictures ranging from abstract designs, flags of Canada and Indonesia and some Ottawa Senator’s hockey player cutouts to the school children of Kahju.
