The plans are scheduled to be completed by 2010, by which time Norway will have some of the most advanced vessels of their class in the world.

The planned minesweeper hunter (MSH) class was a failure, and the program was halted by the Navy on 25 August 1986.
This class is designed to supplement the "Avenger" class and together with it will form the U.S. Mine Warfare Force of the future.
The MSH is a new class of minesweeper using an air cushion to reduce the contact of the hull with the water surface, thus making it less susceptible to underwater shock from mine explosions.

Built by Palmer's Co., Newcastle, she was delivered to New Zealand Shipping Co. in Oct.1875 and made nearly 20 voyages to New Zealand for the company, the fastest being in 1875 to Port Chalmers when she accomplished a land to land time of 82 days.
Her dimensions were length 465ft x beam 59.4ft and she had one funnel, two masts, a speed of 14 knots and accommodation for 128-1st, 300-3rd and 400-emigrant class passengers.
