AltaVista draws 9.4 million visitors monthly, compared to Yahoo.com with 32 million unique visitors in September, and Netscape and Go.com with 19 million visitors, according to Media Metrix, a New York-based company that tracks website traffic.
AltaVista has indexed 350 million Internet pages and is linked to the sites where new sites are registered in order to add the information to its database within days, Memo said.
