The rest of the old county, extending all the way to Kansas, was to be renamed "Adams" County, as in the previous bills, with Brighton as its county seat, pending an election to choose the permanent one.
Adam County can legitimately be considered the direct successor to old Arapahoe County, first formed in 1855, since it comprised what was left over after the City and County of Denver and South Arapahoe County were cut out.
The first three Commissioners of Adams County were Fred P. Watts, who had been formerly elected as Arapahoe County Commissioner from the Brighton district, and John Benbow and Wilson R. Smith, both appointed by the current governor of Colorado, J.B. Orman.

Zap2it.com - Movie review - Lords of Dogtown
In shorthand, Alva (Victor Rasuk) is the rock star, Adams (Emile Hirsch) the rebel and Peralta (John Robins) the wallflower.
The skating in "Z-Boys" mesmerized, and Hardwicke, a Venice resident, and her cinematographer, Elliot Davis, re-create it well here, capturing the beauty of a long, clear hill, the friction of a sharp turn and the promise of a drained pool.
It's drama enough, really, but then there's this: Alva's never good enough for his father, Adams' single mom is a bum, and Peralta can't keep his girl -- Tony's sister Kathy -- satisfied.

Barsuk hits all the right poses as the flamboyant Alva, the rock star of the trio, who is obsessed with both getting out from under his father's abusive thumb and fulfilling his demand that he not end up a ditch-digger.
