		Alvis LTD completed the first prototype in 1952 and the first production vehicle at the end of the same year.
		The Saracen was the standard APC in the British Army until it began being replaced by the FV432 in 1963.

	Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle (UK)
		The initial proposals for a future APC requirement were floated in 1967 and from 1968 until 1971, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) conducted in-house feasibility studies.
		The Warrior was designed to replace the FV432 APC in the thirteen mechanised infantry battalions of the 1st, 3rd and 4th Armoured Divisions of BAOR in West Germany.

		The F.V. 603 Saracen is an armoured personnel carrier based on the six-wheeled chassis of the Saladin armoured car.
		The specification for the Saracen was issued after that of the Saladin, but the vehicle had to be rushed into service first, because British troops engaged in the Malayan Emergency needed the armoured personnel carrier more urgently.
