Always, directed by Steven Spielberg, offers a rich lore of ideas and ideals that could be put under the umbrella of spirituality — the concept of life as mission, mentoring, love, and letting go.
A remake of the 1943 movie A Guy Named Joe, the film is at once a rousing adventure story, a romantic comedy, and an affecting afterlife fantasy.
Always is an uplifting movie that goes straight to the heart.

Why do movie posters always look hand-drawn? And how do they do it? | Ask MetaFilter
Although most movie poster artists these days are much more digital-oriented, I imagine the purpose remains the same: to help brand the movie as fantasy and "bigger than life," as Brandon Blatcher mentioned above.
The other thing to keep in mind is that designing movie posters is a pretty niche industry where there are clear l33t leaders -- A-listers, if you will -- that are regarded as masters of their craft.
There is a long tradition of painted movie posters and while not all modern posters attempt to imitate them, it is an classic look.

Always was first adapted by Diane Thomas, but when she tragically died in a car accident in 1984, Jerry Belson stepped in and finished the script.
While Always never claims to operate at that level, the characters involved in its love triangle never demand a level of emotion that warrants us becoming overly involved in their story.
In the end, Always gives us a nicely put together film that never claims to be more than it is and probably deserves a little more credit than it receives.

Always Movie -The 80s Rewind «
Always is, of course, basically a good old fashioned romance and as such is an unusual genre for Spielberg to cover.
The story of Always follows a brave (or maybe just reckless) but otherwise rather 'ordinary' fire fighter pilot called "Pete", played excellently by Richard Dreyfuss and his lover, "Dorinda", played by Holly Hunter who is increasingly worried by his acts of bravado and becomes convinced that he's heading for disaster.
The twin-engine WWII bombers used in "Always" were called B-26's in the movie, but the plane(s) they actually used is a Douglas A-20, which looked a lot like the Martin B-26.
