 Township Day is March 8
March 8 is a day for all township citizens to express their choice in electing their leaders at township annual elections and setting the level of spending to be spread to the property tax payers in the township at the township annual meeting.
Townships however, have the option to open the polls earlier (see individual township’s notice of election or call your town clerk).
Even though both activities, the township election and the annual meeting, occur on the second Tuesday in March, Township Day, they are individual activities and must not be held at the same times (some exclusions apply).

County’s riverway decision harshly criticized Monday
As he stood before the county commissioners Monday morning, during the end of the year board meeting, he said the steering committee is on target and by taking the action to place a moratorium on development in areas along the St. Croix River and the Sunrise River, the board treated the committee shamefully.
He said the area in Amador Township that is now included in the moratorium is already protected by the state park designation.
The township appeared to have two issues with the board action: approving an unnecessary moratorium and the process in which the action was taken.
