The Kyodo News reports that Kirin has recreated "as accurately as possible" a beer recipe from the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt.
Archaeologists helped brewers at the Kirin brewery in Amagi, Fukuoka Prefecture interpret wall paintings that illustrated the beer-making process in the New Kingdom (1570-1070 B.C.).
The work was done in cooperation with Sakuji Yoshimura, a professor and director of Egyptology Research at Tokyo's Waseda University.
