As with the "Tiberius" name, "Grayson" may have arised during DC Fontana convention appearances, too.

I have a memory that "Grayson" was known in fan circles (perhaps through stuff circulated by the ST Welcommittee and Lincoln Enterprises, or maybe press releases?) before turning up in TAS.
