  Amanda Winn Lee - Anime Convention Personality of the Week - 1/13/99
The earlier in the con she is wearing sunglasses, the wilder the parties at the con.
The great irony of American anime is that Lee, who is not known for her reserved personality, was chosen to play the understated Rei Ayanami in the ADV Films dub of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Actually, Lee is a talented writer as well as actor: she crafted some of the subtitles for ADV's anime releases.

On the Last day of the con, I was blessed to have the opportunity to talk with Amanda Winn Lee and her husband, Scott Lee, both highly-regarded voice actors in English-dubbed anime.
As we headed to the interview area, I asked Scott to comment on the huge discrepancy in the number of shows he's worked on compared to her (basically his three or four to her fifteen, the number only slightly exaggerated).
Amanda, on the other hand, was "classically trained," graduating from Wesleyan University in Connecticut "with honors in theatre." Further, when she was younger, she loved doing voices as a kid, and her parents encouraged her to pursue theatrics.

 Dub Review :: Read Review
Amanda Winn-Lee, Tiffany Grant, and Rob Mungle are carrying this one on their own-- but they nail it.
While the voice acting is somewhat inconsistent and the accuracy here is, to say the least, questionable, the dub for Gunsmith Cats works mainly based on the strengths of its lead cast.
Though the rest of the dub is fairly accurate-- especially considering when it was produced-- these and other unnecessary alterations are derogatory to the overall quality of the dub.

It’s also very nice to hear the familiar voices of the English dub again in the first movie – though one or two are changed doesn’t really matter (unless the ones who voices are changed are you favourite characters).
Amanda Winn Lee (director of the English dub) does deserve some credit to bringing back the original dub cast, even if people do not like the dub, it’s better to have the regular cast of a dubbed anime series return than have Manga replace everyone with new actors.
The commentary cast is the English dub director and voice of Rei Ayanami, Amanda Winn Lee.

This film is basically a synopsis of 26 TV episodes, and a prelude to the end.
Manga delivered on this feature as the commentary was both informative and entertaining, as I laughed as Winn Lee, Lee, and Jaffe pointed out key plot points, areas of translation, and did it all with wonderful wit.
It was probably one of the most enjoyable and memorable commentaries I've listened to, which is saying a lot, since this is an anime film.
