The Amarillo Dillas is the nickname of two different minor league baseball teams that played in Amarillo, Texas.
On November 2004, the Amarillo Dillas were dropped from the Central Baseball League due to financial problems.
The second Amarillo Dillas were formed in 2006 as part of the independent United Baseball League (ULB).

Amarillo's name probably derives from the nearby Amarillo Lake and Amarillo Creek, named in turn for the yellow soil along their banks and shores (Amarillo is the Spanish word for yellow, the color) or the yellow wildflowers that were plentiful during the spring and summer.
Amarillo is located near the middle of the Texas Panhandle and is part of the Llano Estacado region which has a surface that is relatively flat and has little drainage in the soil.
Amarillo is considered the regional economical center for the Texas Panhandle as well as eastern New Mexico and the Oklahoma Panhandle.
