Amazo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Amazo was built by the insane super-scientist Professor Ivo to battle the Justice League of America.
Amazo was originally built to imitate the powers of the original JLA members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), The Flash (Barry Allen), the Martian Manhunter and Aquaman.
Amazo, in the guise of Timazo, became the chief enemy of the android Hourman when he was able to duplicate half of Hourman's near-infinite temporal manipulation abilities.

Amazo is a cool villain, and his doofy Silver Age look is made very scary and effective by Mahnke, who presents him as an enormous powerhouse facing down what amount to two skilled, hopelessly outmatched crimefighters.
Meanwhile, while Amazo has the powers of the Justice League, the predominant power of Winick's villains seems to be snark, embodied by the somewhat engaging and yet borderline annoying verbal tics of Black Mask, Red Hood and Mr.
The approach is sort of like treating Amazo as the Terminator, watching as bits and pieces of him are blown away and he just keeps coming, and Mahnke does a nice job of indicating each bit of damage as crucial but not fatal.

But when Amazo approaches the same way he only busts his way through one door, walks down a hallway but all the earlier doors are already open, and then busts directly through the main door into Lex's private room with the cannon.

Begun years earlier, when it became somewhat obvious to Amazo that some help in his perpetual battle against the JLA would be a good thing, the part-human, part android cyborg is a college student, a lapsed Catholic, and a student of existential philosophy and Frederick Nietzsche.
The fact that he’s able to question his destiny at all is due to the Amazo program kicking in earlier than planned, thanks to an earthquake.
Even Amazo and Ivo aren’t sure whether or not his discovery of who he is, under his human side means that the human side might win in the struggle for dominance.

Amazo's main tactic on his first to clix, is to pick up a heavy object an then later use that object to smack the opppent.
You can easily alter parts of it to make it mixed, but the best idea is to keep Amazo in soaring and Cosmic Boy immediately in front of him and soaring (and behind or on an object).
This way, no outwits can hit Amazo or Cos Boy, and if you TK right, you can hit most of the people on the board without worrying about retaliatory attacks.

Amazo has the powers of every JLA member past and present, except Spectre, Phantom Stranger, and Zauriel.
And yes, Amazo may be a machine, but it is not so easy to get close enough to him to screw with his programming when he has all these powers.
Unless someone programs Amazo to recognize Tyrant as a JLA member, I doubt he'd be fighting anywhere near as hard (which doesn't seem to be all that hard to begin with).

Amazo has the ability to steal and/or duplicate the superpowers of an opponent...and as he has met most of the superheroes in the DC Universe, he is obscenely powerful.
There is also an incident in Justice League Quarterly #12 wherein a radically-redesigned, skull-faced Amazo took on the superteam known as the Conglomerate; although that was allegedly the real Amazo, and he did reappear in that form sometimes in issues of Hourman, it does indicate that the parts were floating around available for illegal purchase.
