Eric Ambler (28 June 1909 - 22 October 1998) was an influential English writer of (Click link for more info and facts about spy novel) spy novels who brought a level of realism to the field that had generally been absent in earlier works.
His family were entertainers, putting on a type of (A doll with a hollow head of a person or animal and a cloth body; intended to fit over the hand and be manipulated with the fingers) puppet show, with which he helped.
