The Archers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ambridge itself is sometimes said to be based upon the village of Inkberrow in Worcestershire, but the basis for this is only that the village pub - The Old Bull - was the model for the fictional pub The Bull in Ambridge.
The programme is set in the fictional Midlands village of Ambridge close to Borchester, the county town of Borsetshire, an imaginary shire situated between the (actually contiguous) real counties of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, south of Birmingham in the West Midlands.
Anywhere further away from Ambridge is referred to as 'but that's on the other side of Felpersham!' (although a number of characters attended the Countryside Alliance march in London, and a couple of scenes have taken place abroad and in Lemington Spa).

Ambridge (The Archers) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ambridge is a fictional village and the setting for most of the action in the UK cult radio programme, The Archers which has celebrated over 50 years on the BBC Home Service and Radio 4.
Ambridge is located on the banks of the (fictional) River Am, in the (fictional) county of Borsetshire, which is located somewhere in the English south Midlands.
Publicity photographs for the programme occasionally use real locations, frequently in Worcestershire, as the studio that produces the series is located nearby in Birmingham– the local pub "The Bull" is modelled on a public house in the Worcestershire village of Inkberrow, and photos showing the "Bull" are actually of the Inkberrow pub.
