Rashid said Baghdad is ready to work with inspection experts from the U.N. Special Commission (UNSCOM), and that granting full access to the them will reveal the "fallacies" of U.S. and British allegations that Iraq is hiding weapons of mass destruction.
Rashid also said Iraq is still waiting on special equipment to arrive to verify its claims that it has destroyed all 79 "special warheads," capable of carrying chemical or biological agents.
Rashid also said Iraq could not take full advantage of the proposed increase in the U.N.'s oil-for-food program, because Iraq's petroleum industry is in disrepair, and because of deteriorated prices in the oil market.
