		The Academy awards an annual Fellowship of $20,000 to an American poet for distinguished poetic achievement.
		In 1994, the Academy was selected by the New Hope Foundation to administer the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize in conjunction with The Nation magazine.
		Academy readings have recently taken place in New York; Los Angeles; the San Francisco Bay area; Seattle; Philadelphia; Kansas City; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Washington, D.C.; Charleston, South Carolina; Portland, Oregon; and several towns in the Pacific Northwest.

		The Academy of American Poets page offers useful links to biographical information about Frost, video clips of writers discussing his poetry, audio recordings of Frost reading his work, and critical commentary.
		American Poems features a brief biography of Frost and links to the text of many of his poems.

	Dan Schneider on The Academy Of American Poets
		One of the benefits of contributing to the Academy Of American Poets is that not only do you get an award winning book of poetry, but you get an annual subscription to the quarterly magazine published by it, American Poet.
		Poets and Writers certainly is a bad magazine, insofar as the writing of the articles, and the writers highlighted within, but it, at least, provides a service of open calls for publications as well as which talentless brownnoser got which award for what relationship in the past.
		When published poets as Creeley, meager a talent as he was, refuse to take ‘real poetry’ seriously there is trouble on the horizon.
