In a study published in the Aug. 1 issue of the American Meteorological Society's Journal of Climate, he concludes that the particles cause short-term global cooling, but over decades the gases overwhelm this cooling effect to cause long-term global warming.
According to a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) study published in the July issue of the American Meteorological Society’s Journal of Climate, the yearly snow decreased significantly in favor of rain during the last half of the 20th century.

The last paragraph stakes their claim not only to keep scientific debate on such a crucial public issue entirely within their own private domain (an issue they made public to begin with), but that they should have the right to an un-elected say in the making of public policy for the rest of us.
This is in spite of the fact that the findings of this peer group, if accepted as genuine science by the public, implies horrendous economic costs to billions of people.
Such `sciences' are often called `soft sciences' for this very reason (as distinct from `hard' sciences like physics and chemistry), and based on their performance so far, it would be reasonable to regard greenhouse science in the `soft' category.

 AMS Copyright Policy
The Society's mission to disseminate knowledge in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences is best served by promoting wide access to American Meteorological Society (AMS) publications while ensuring that this dissemination preserves the integrity of the originally published works.
The copyright to the materials published in the journals, monographs, and other publications of the Society, which is transferred from the authors to the AMS at the time of publication, allows the AMS to act as the steward for the intellectual property contained in the published works.
It also allows the AMS to protect the value of the materials so that they can be used to generate revenue for the Society, which is then used to support the peer-review publication process so crucial to the scholarly scientific endeavor.
