Amesbury High in limbo - The Boston Globe
AMESBURY -- Following their decision to fire the general contractor working on the expansion and renovation of Amesbury High School, town officials are grappling with how to get the $29 million project up and running again.
Ground was broken in April 2004 for the project, which includes a significant overhaul of the 38-year-old, 128,845-square-foot high school building and construction of a 54,255-square-foot addition.
The original hopes of moving the ninth grade -- which is being temporarily housed at the middle school -- back to the high school this fall have also been postponed.
