Amiga programs to a virtual processor code now, and they have a VP to C++ compiler, so this port actually may be really, really fast, and once it's done I have no doubt it will perform the best of the Mozilla breed.
Amiga recently announced that they would port the Amiga OS to the PowerPC for Amiga OS 4.0, to be released in late summer this year, with later releases to follow, leading up to 5.0, which will include memory protection and the full implementation of the AmigaDE.
Amiga SDK for either Linux or Windows to be able to help with the port to the AmigaDE.

AmigaOS 5+ is the future of the Amiga, and Amiga Inc. has every right to work on this development line on their own and for financial gain - that is only fair.
Tribute goes to Squid's Amiga Page and Rumour Mill, a fine and well-recommended piece of Amiga writing, for recently highlighting the fact that open source doesn't necessarily equate to free and publicly available.
The educational market (and I'm casting a nod here to MINIX, the OS that inspired a certain computer science student to write something called Linux) could be supplied with a cheap version of AmigaOS for classroom study (preferably bundled with a solid text book).

On the first Amiga model, the A1000, this was loaded from disk into a special section of memory called the writable control store (WCS), although eventually the Kickstart was embedded in a ROM chip inside the computer.
The Amiga OS had support for the Rexx language.
It was called ARexx (short for "Amiga Rexx") and was a script language which allowed for full OS scripting, similar to AppleScript, intra-application scripting, similar to VBA in Microsoft Office, as well as inter-program communication.

The design of the OS was amazingly advanced for the 1985-1994 era it occupied, so that it is still quite compelling even today (hence the number of clone OSes), but people also ought to consider alternatives - such as BeOs, which is purportedly a "spiritual successor" to the Amiga OS as far as design goes.

With the number of Amiga OS 4 On Tour show happening across Europe in the last few months many UK users were feeling left out with no AmigaOS 4 demonstration near them.
The initial OS 4 screen looked much like any Amiga Workbench but with a subtle gradient on the title bar and a new-look AmiDock with semi-transparent background along the bottom of the screen.
Mick estimated the speed to be similar to an '040 classic Amiga (bear in mind this is without JIT 68K emulator and with the OS in an alpha state) and was certainly very usable.

Whilst Amiga Inc. are getting all the details of OS4/5 up on their own website I thought it might be useful to give my own views as to where we are, where we are going and why the St Louis announcement was so pivotal to the future of the Amiga.
At this stage the Amiga DE will also be ported to the Amiga OS so that the AmigaOne can be used as a development/porting platform for Amiga DE content (as a more familiar alternative to the currently available Windows/Linux development environments).
Finally, one of the most significant parts of the announcement is that Amiga Inc. have decided -- quite properly in my view -- to take their ownership of the Amiga OS seriously.

EyeTech revealed earlier in the week that the delivery of OS 4.0 was behind due to the economic problems experienced in the technology sector and the fact that Amiga Inc's priorities were and still are on the Amiga DE.
Fleecy Moss, CTO of Amiga Inc explained that “Amiga is in control of OS 4.0 - we have merely outsourced the project management”.

We intend for OS 4.0 to be disk-based or at least partly disk-based and partly flashrom based even for current Amiga's.
As we have taken on more work (Intuition etc.) and folded some of the functionality originally planned for OS 4.2 into OS 4.0, this inevitably means the original February release-date might slip somewhat but all in all we believe that the end-result will be technologically more satisfying.

Jim Collis, president of Amiga Inc., posted a newsgroup message that day claiming it was the first he had heard of the company or its products.
The Amiga computer used several proprietary chips that required special fabrication units to design, and even if IWin could copy the chips, Amiga, Inc. claims it would be a copyright violation.

You will need a hard drive equipped AMiGA that meets the requirements to run AMiGA OS 3.5 or 3..9.
Run the OS 3.5 (or OS 3.9) install program and use the "make emergency disk" option.
These tips and "hacks" SHOULD work with WinUAE, CybergraphX supported graphics cards, 68060 CPU (others should be OK) and native AMiGA OS 3.9 or OS 3.5.

We are hard at work finishing up our Super Size Me like movie about Trans Fat but the plan is to secure funding to purchase Amiga Inc. and all of it’s IP in the next year.
This of course depends on if Amiga Inc. wants to sell themselves in the next year and if an agreed upon price can be negotiated.
The boards work on all Amiga zorro based systems and include all A2000, 3000 and 4000 models.
