The son of Gul Hameed, Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri, is the former Chairman District Council and District Nazim of Mianwali.
Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri was even a close friend of the Pir of Pagaro, Makhdoom Hassan Mehmood, Maulana Abdus Sattar Niazi, and of Balakh Sher Mazari.
Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri was a crony of (Late) Nawab of Kalabagh, former Governor of West Pakistan.

The British made administrative divisions, and the present towns of Mianwali and Essa Khail were made tehsil headquarters in the district Bannu of the Dera Ismail Khan division of Punjab.
In November 1901, North West Frontier Province was carved out of Punjab and towns of Mianwali, Essa Khail, Kalabagh, and Kundian were separated from Bannu District (NWFP)and hence a new district was made with the headquarters in Mianwali city and placed in Punjab.
