  Amity Matters - Court Summons
Amity Matters would like to thank Thomas Hall for donating his truck and services to help remove and properly dispose of the computers and other material that was removed from the debris before burning.
Amity has a date in court on the 19 th of this month according to a summons issued by Forest Ranger Jeremiah Crockett for “burning prohibited material”.
The Selectmen are welcome to comment on any subject in Amity Matters, just email it to the editor and it will be printed unedited unless there is profanity and it must be signed, as is our policy on letters to the editor.

 Mary Dane Hebert 1920-2004
Born in Skowhegan, Maine, on May 14, 1920, she was the daughter of Mahlon and Isabelle (Lyon) Dane.
She was raised and educated in Skowhegan and was a graduate of Skowhegan High School and Stratford on Commonwealth.
She is also survived by brothers David Dane and his wife, Margaret, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Richard Dane and his wife, Beverly, of Topsfield, and their children, and a sister, Doris Karter of Waterville, Maine.

The Reed School functioned as a one-room school from about 1837 until the early 1970's and since that time has been used chiefly as a meeting place for the annual town meeting for the Town of North Amity, Maine, where the school is located.
After much effort, the school was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 2001.
