I did so, bought a couple of albums and generally liked them, but this song (and his video that goes with it) remains my favorite of his works.
Each album released so far is markedly different to any of the others, yet each is brilliant in it's own way.
This was one of my most played albums in the late nineties.

Richard Thompson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The album sold poorly and was panned by the press, especially the influential Melody Maker magazine.
With studio time and the American session musicians hired to work on the Covington album available, the Thompsons went back into the studio to record under their own name for the first time in three years.
His 1983 album Hand Of Kindness saw him working with Boyd again, but the album was startlingly different from Shoot Out The Lights — swaggering and extrovert where the previous album had been dark and angst-ridden.

 Matt Ward Page
Less than a year after the output of his first album (and after a european tour with Giant Sand and another with Grandaddy), here the second, more packed and orchestrated, even if the atmosphère is always with do-it-yourself engineering and the heat of the corner of fire.
End Of Amnesia is M.Ward's second album, whereas the first was solely a demo collection, this new album suggests that this man out of Portland, like a "Routinier", he delivers self-confident, fragile and at the same time powerful Folksongs.
On End Of Amnesia, environments slightly are diversifées but the result is identical: the listener bases himself in these timeless and delicate pieces where the voice of Matt is done, with the choice, rougher or crooneuse.

Hip Hop Hot Spot - Hip Hop to a Higher Degree - album reviews
There is not one song that is worse than the other, and there are no bad songs on this album, in fact all of the songs are very high quality, and very appealing, even to the most resistant, and hesitant fan.
Amnesia is the type of smooth, body controlling track that can make a whole album worth picking up.
It needs to be restated that this album is magnificently one of the best hip hop albums we=ve heard to date, as it packs many key aspects with regards to the making of a sure classic.

Ward's third album Transfiguration of Vincent is a vivid channeling of music of the past--old-time country, jazz, folk, bluegrass and blues--that also has a very now sort of presence that carries serious weight and impact.
In the past year Ward not only released an superb album that capitalized on the promise of its equally rewarding predecessors, he's been part of a hard-to-believe number of amazing tours, starting last fall with his spot on the Bright Eyes "orchestra" tour (the one where that band had a stage-filling number of members).
In Future Farmer's bio for your End of Amnesia album it states, "Ward is currently living in Portland, Oregon by way of Seattle, Chicago and Ventura County, California." Between that description and how often you tour, one would get the impression that you don't stay in one place for long.

 The Night in Amnesia Review
This is not the sort of album that you'd want to listen to if you're feeling even slightly off-balance (mentally, that is).
Ballad of a Man Long Gone This is the first song on the album which seems to have a definite rhythmic/melodic structure.
Amnesia Seemingly the second half of the Tunisia/Amnesia tracks which makes up the backbone of Night in Amnesia.

While the album is not on par with such past classics as BLIZZARD OF OZ and DIARY OF A MADMAN, NO REST FOR THE WICKED did represent a return to Osbourne's roots (thanks in part to longtime Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker).
This lengthy album (originally a double vinyl) was poorly received by the critics, although now it has grown in stature, and it really does have considerable depth and melody.
The album is a mix of pulsating electro influenced trance and techno, raging from minimal techno beats to full on euphoric trance build ups.

While the album lends itself to the ever-growing vein of acoustical and mellow rock, they have yet to see if their sounds will enjoy the success of bands like Coldplay.
Craig Nicholls wrote “TV Pro,” like all the album’s songs, though it sounds more like he mystically wrote it while picturing himself “in a boat on a river.” The aching chorus is the only notion of former The Vines that leads you to believe it’s them.
Then there’s the song that is most typical of the album, “Amnesia.” Perhaps aptly titled for the band’s forgotten sounds of Highly Evolved, the song holds the sounds most inherent on Winning Days.

Man In Black Music | Jesters Moon Reviews
If I had reviewed the album after my first listen I would have probably graded it a little lower because I was a little unsure if I liked the vocals of Van Patten who is pulling double duty on the album.
Amnesia has a proggy feeling on it, it kinda reminded me of Led Zeppelin (which is always bad!), but the song is way too long at over 10 minutes.
The production on this album is very good and there´s some very good melodies and lots of potential in the songs but the vocals fails to convince.

The music on the album is influenced by one of rocks greatest acts, Queen.
The album is pretty complete in quality terms and is nothing short of brilliant in my opinion.
The album really changes up with the track 'User' that maintains a thick sound and intensifies from a much milder beginning.

Amnesia was a project by Brad Laner, another musician from Los Angeles.
Apparently, he had been friends with Beck since they were both kids, which would explain not only Beck's guest-spot on Amnesia's album, Lingus (recorded in the fall of 1997), but also Beck's father David Campbell providing string arrangements for three of the songs (although "Drop Down" was not one of them).
It goes on and calls "Drop Down" itself, "The album's gutbucket blues number, with Beck as the spotlit kid/duelling harmonica donor.

Janis:We got a promo-paper by SPV and it says that the album was completed in total isolation and that you were involved not only as the singer but as a musician, composer and sound engineer as well.
The "Nephilim" album was, by contrast to what I'm doing now, looking back, it was very old, very ancient, in fact, in what was being dug up on that album visually.
We might have a Metal edge on this album, but that's just to help get the energy and power out of the music, which was lacking with what I was doing before.

In fact, this may be the best of his four solo albums and that in itself is a strong statement considering the one that preceded this one (Duet) and the two that followed (Transitor and Transfiguration).
From the first line sung in the album to the very last, Ward's mellow raspy voice conveys a immense sense of feeling and emotion which perfectly compliments his acoustic guitar playing.
While the songs on this album are typically quite mellow and relaxed, it is extemely capable of holding a listener's attention for an infinite amount of plays without getting boring.

Glinda Street (which "may or may not concern amnesia in the aftermath of a car crash", according to the booklet), is a beautiful, haunting insturmental work that cannotes film noir better than many of the recent movies that have tried to capture that elusive, shadowy mood.
A concept album perhaps and a definite challenge but a super find for those who like their experimentation twisted.
GLINDA STREET may be (or may not be) also interpretated as a concept album about amnesia in the aftermath of a car crash and post-incident trauma, actually it is a kind of whirling experience spinning inside your brain as the stars and the birds do after a hard hit...

At the end of "Amnesia", you hear a lady come on talking about brains; "scoop the brains out, blast the brains with water or air..." The first time I heard it, I thought it was really weird and unusual.
It became clear to me that this album was their most successful arguable because of the near-perfect mix of mainstream, slightly repetitive, melodically clean tunes, and their unrelenting and light-hearted cynicism towards the governments that run and ruin their world.
Perhaps this album is what they needed to break out on the big scene in the U.S., and I am thankful for as much.

I would say that M. Ward would have a hard time topping this album but I think that he is here to stay and that it is going to be an interesting career to watch.
End of Amnesia is such a good title too, because M. Ward evokes the feeling of sudden realization of life but in a waking state.
This is a brilliant little album that should win over many alt-country fans.

[fmSound] Reviews - Bikeride "Morning Macumba"
To Bikeride, the world is a playground, full of surprises and adventures; their music is a parade, bold and impatient; and their lyrics are pinwheels, shiny and reflective.
The album opens with the flutes, whistles and pop bottle percussion of “Radio Ougadougou.” No words—just a jazzy little intro to a sunny, summery album.
I can’t overstate the joyful vigor of this album.

 Nunsense (Recording)
The next track on the album, So You Want To Be A Nun is a real vocal tour de force from Louise Gold, though it must have been an even greater masterpiece when she performed on stage (where in addition to her vocal acrobatics she also puppeteered, all at the same time).
One of the few criticisms that might be made about this album, is that, especially when compared to the Original Broadway Cast album of the same show, the performers diction is not terribly good (and that goes for all five of the principal actresses).
The only problem with this album is that it only partially captures the show as a whole; the visual element is missing.

However, that in itself is not enough to weaken Coil, a definitive five-star album.
It's a shame they broke up recording the next album, but then again, maybe it's best to stop when you're at the top, and this is the very top of their output.
Magnificent musicianship all through this album (and the band) make Coil quite possibly their best work of art ever produced by the band.

 IPR - Encyclopedia - F
This is a fantastic album, full of deliciously icy vocals, blizzards of swirling, shimmering guitars, and crystalline rhythms, all coming together to form a perfect snapshot of the beauty of winter.
Not so much an album as a collection of singles and b-sides; many of the songs have abrupt intros (almost as if the engineer tried to reduce the length of the album by fast-forwarding to the vocals) and a rushed relentlessness that, though sometimes fatiguing, often works perfectly, yielding some of the band's greatest songs.
Despite the down-to-earth title and terse song names, this album tends to wander and linger in delicious otherworldly excursions ranging from the post-punk "Tagalong" and "Vista" to the tenderly contemplative "blow".
