Anterograde amnesia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anterograde amnesia is a form of amnesia, or memory loss, where new events are not transferred to long-term memory.
The final cause of anterograde amnesia is damage to a set of structures which are located deep in the brain called the diencephalon.
The most famous case of anterograde amnesia is that of HM or Henry M., the man whose lesions accidentally started the inquiry into the neurobiology of learning and memory.

 Amnesia
Amnesia is a large-scale loss of memories that otherwise would be unlikely to be forgotten, such as important life experiences and people, or things you have just been taught or told.
Amnesia is often the symptom of a degenerative brain disease, such as Alzheimer’s disease, or may result from a traumatic injury to the brain.
Amnesia is most commonly associated with either brain damage through injury or degeneration of brain cells in dementia.

 BODY STORY - Crash: 'Amnesia'
Amnesia (memory loss) is usually one of the first problems people experience after a head injury, and it is one of the last of the cognitive functions — that is, functions to do with knowing and being aware — to return.
Unlike amnesia due to emotional trauma, amnesia that results from a brain injury cannot be rectified with hypnosis or counselling.
With retrograde amnesia, some patients find that, at first, they cannot recall events that occurred months or years prior to the onset of their memory loss, but that over time the forgotten period shrinks to weeks, days or even hours.

The story for Amnesia is interesting and almost comes together, but at the same time doesn't.
I got the impression that Amnesia was a much larger story that found itself compressed into 64 pages; as a result of the effort to try and fit it into the pagecount, a lot of it fell to the sidelines.
I don't mind a story where you need to piece parts of it together, but Amnesia seemed at times to be missing transitions from scene to scene, or even within.

Amnesia gently held her hands over Soheila's head, petting the thick locks, caressing what of her face that could be touched, and simply loving her in a way she could have once loved Celeste, had Celeste stayed, and not died, not that she could help either.
Amnesia's eyes rolled into the back of her head, her arms falling limply aside, not because she hurt, but because the pleasure was so much that she could not contain it.
Amnesia's body was covered in deep bite marks from her shoulders to her loins, bruises that would last a week, purple and then to a soft yellow, some so sore she'd shrink back from the touch of anyone who might try to invade her.

 WHEN THE PAST DISAPPEARS
The estimate of pre-traumatic amnesia is usually obtained months or years after the injury and is often difficult to obtain with precision, especially when the patient's daily schedule prior to the injury was fairly routine.
They emphasized the dangers of underestimating the duration of post-traumatic amnesia by using 'ishmds of memory' to indicate the end of the amnesia, or by assuming that if the patient is aware of things going on around him, he may necessarily be able to recall these at a later date.
Retrograde amnesia may be separated into two classes: (1) a temporary long period that gradually shrinks during the recovery period, and (2) a permanent RA that is of short duration and persists after recovery.

Amnesia does not preclude romantic love and happy ever after but it definitely makes relationships more demanding for the other person, who might have to take on a caretaker role in addition to the lover and partner roles and adjust to the patient's other symptoms.

Dick's "I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon" tells the story of a troubled space traveler who must endure a 10-year flight as his ship's computer feeds him his "buried memories." Shirley's "Nightmare" is just that, an unsettling dreamscape of a secretary trapped in an urban mystery.
