Amphetamine Reptile Records (or AmRep) is a record label which was founded in 1986 by then Marine Tom Hazelmeyer in Washington State.
Originally the label existed solely to release records by Hazelmeyer's band, Halo of Flies, but eventually the label's roster expanded to include releases by Helmet, The Melvins, Cows, Helios Creed, Chokebore, Servotron and others.
Amphetamine Reptile is also known as Amrep industries.

The Unsane recorded their Peel Sessions over a period of two years, first (tracks 1 and 2) with Charlie Ondras in 1991, then returning to the BBC studios in 1992 with fresh new drummer Vinnie Signorelli.
In 1992, a furious recording and touring schedule came to an abrupt halt with the untimely death of Charles Ondras.
A limited-edition, semi-legit 7" compiled of some of the tracks from the aborted Circuit album was released by a relative of the band, and an additional PCP 7" split between the Unsane and Slug (featuring the bands covering each others songs), were released in 1992.

Maybe we'll try next record, but their arrangements are changing all the time.
It literally was cut off on the last chorus, which is one of the things I hate the most when I'm listening to a cassette that someone made at home and the song gets cut off at the end of the tape.

The music was an unheard-of mix of low-BPM grind and shoe-gazer singing, and this platter was a perfectly one-of-a-kind soundtrack for AmRep's scariest latter-period band.

The shameful death of Kiss it Goodbye - a violent quintet featuring the remains of Deadguy that pummeled New York's hardcore scene in the late 90s - didn't stop a few of the surviving members from carrying on with new projects.
Looks like Steve Austin and Today is the Day (former Amphetamine Reptile heavies) are still influencing the next generation of progressive metal kings.

This probably hasn't happened to you, but it has to me, and it really bugs me: a friend tells you about this great 45, so you go down to the record shop to buy it.
You flip all the way through the damn cardboard box, and come up empty.
The flip side has the tracks "Servotron Sonic Evaluation of the Christmas Season," which sounds like an annoying electronic tie that plays a medly of carols, and "Death of the Sugarplum Fairy," a take on the ballet classic involving Moog sounds in a minor key.

Well, the thing about it is that we recorded some stuff a long, long time ago, like maybe four or five years ago.
But those two bands are particular that you mentioned: I think like the LIARS might be on to something, I heard something of their latest record and it was pretty good.

the band got their start in Fargo, hooked up with Amphetamine Reptile Records somewhere along the way and then moved to Minneapolis, toured like mad, released a bunch of records and broke up.
Paul Sanders started a band called moreRAM (which released a 7-inch on Meat Records) and Paul Erickson and Jeff Mooridian started up Vaz.
There was a show in the early 90s at the Elk's Lodge in Fargo that was just insane.

Defining the Minneapolis/Midwest noise rock scene of the late 80’s and early 90’s, Amphetamine Reptile Records released some of the loudest and most ambitious music of the time.
While the rest of the world was foaming over Pearl Jam and Nirvana, AmRep was crushing the underground with overblown distortion and cranked out tempos.
There was a reason why the label felt compelled to write “Noise” in big capital letters behind its Amphetamine Reptile logos.
