		She resides in an alternate universe (not the Marvel Universe which is populated by Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, etc.) and is a member of the superhero group, the Squadron Supreme.
		Her character was originally developed as a thinly disguised analog of DC Comics' Wonder Woman.
		She attempted to remove Doctor Spectrum's power prism and it tried to retrieve her memories, but before that happened, she was attacked by Amphibian in retaliation for harming Spectrum.

		JMS and Frank are developing soem great characters using the original SS memebers as springboards mainly and this issue was so good, amphibian is such a sad character but then again every character has had soem sadness in their life either way.
		I'm more intrigued by Amphibian than I am liking her at this point, but Mark is one of my favourite characters, period.

		I have a feeling Doctor Spectrum will somehow introduce Amphibian, like the team will need more people to help, and it will be something along the lines of: "...I know someone" and then he goes searching for her, i dunno.
		I think they are going to look at amphibian as being one of the meta-criminals that are loose (in classic misunderstood monster).
